About The Museum

The C.O. Polk Interactive Museum is planned to open Summer 2018.  The Museum will present over 200 years of McDonough area history, for everyone to experience and enjoy. The Museum lives at the city center on the Town Square.   Planned to be highly interactive allowing visitors to experience the area history both on-line and in-person.

The Museum aspires to be more than an archive of historic objects. Every day, history will come alive in the Museum’s galleries and through its exhibitions and events, revealing both new ideas and unexpected connections across residents and visitors.

Mission:
The C.O. Polk History Center will preserve the history of McDonough and excite & inspire; residents, visitors and local businesses about the future of McDonough.

Vision:
The C.O. Polk History Center is a small unexpected jewel of a museum. The museum will be of the first quality, inspiring residents and visitors of the rich past and exciting future of the area. The museum experience will be a mix of historical artifacts, the art of Jean Charlot, local art, historic photos and text panels and interactive exhibits.
